West Coast Women of the Word has embraced the Manna Home at the Redwood Gospel Mission in Santa Rosa as our mission. 

We had a booth at a flea market over Labor Day weekend in 2008.  Several truck loads of items were gathered and donated to them.

God blessed our themed gift basket raffle at the retreat in November 2008.   We were able to give them a generous amount for Christmas needs.  Our retreat was an outreach to women to come together  to "taste and see that the Lord is good" and  "unite" for His Kingdom. 

At our 2009 Memorial Day Flea Market we raised enough to provide the Blessing super for the 14 to 15 residents of the home.  A Blessing is when friends and family gather to bestow blessings on the one who has completed their 10 month program and is being released. 

One of our members served as a Prayer Partner to one of the women during her 10 months at the Home.  The following is an excerpt from her:  Dear Friends.... I was so blessed that you all came and shared in the Blessing for Juanita.  I am so proud for what God is doing in the lives of these women.  We have such an amazing God who cares for each of us and really wants the best for us.  Thank you for bringing them into your prayers.  God is listening and speaking to their hearts and restoring their bodies, minds and spirit.  I love seeing what He is doing. 

I sat in on their evening prayers.  They were in awe that so many people, that did not even know Juanita, came.  They said never before has there been that many "outsiders" show up.  My comment was that these are your brothers and sisters who pray for you and are loving you well. God is doing amazing things.  We were all so blessed by watching Him in action. Isn't He just the best!  

    My heart was so full as I drove home that all I could do was cry because I was so full of gratefulness to God and grateful because I have such a wonderful church family.
